Marco Pieterse is a senior venture development and technology transfer professional with academic background and international experience in building and expanding early stage clean technology companies, with emphasis on venture financing.
Prior to co-founding Planet Capital in 2002 he worked with the World Bank financed venture capital fund Fundacion Bolivia Exporta, Rabobank International and was a Partner and Investment Director at the ? million early stage food and agribusiness VC fund of Gilde Investment Management.
Creative experience in the translation of technologies into products and business models. Has a broad experience with identifying and analyzing investment opportunities in the clean technology / energy sector as well as the agribusiness sector, structuring and negotiating deals, selecting management and composing teams for ventures, and monitoring and coaching with the goal to build profitable commercial businesses.
Creative and pragmatic professional, with strong analytical skills. Multi lingual with international working and living experience, including in several developing countries. Well networked in the venture capital, technology transfer, agribusiness, and the cleantech sector.
